Authorize.net Payment Gateway
Comersus shopping cart has passed all the certification steps
required by the payment gateway Authorize.net. The details of
this program are listed at: http://www.authorize.net/solutions/partnersolutions/shoppingcartprogram/
Comersus integration supports both SIM and AIM methods.
* SIM: this is the simpler method of integration since
merchants are not required to have an SSL certificate installed
in their sites. End customers are redirected to Authorize.net
to do the payment checkout and the shopping cart is notified
in a secure way through Silent Response. With this Silent Response,
Comersus marks the order as paid, updates stock and sales and
sends digital goods if this function has been configured.
This method requires the generation of strings hash MD5 to authenticate
the merchant data. This procedure is made by Comersus in a clear
way for the merchant.
Comersus forwards to Authorize.net the personal data of the
end customer as well as billing and shipping addresses. In this
way, the end customer does not have to re-enter these data at
the time of payment.
* AIM: This is the most advanced method of integration
and it allows end customers to pay without being redirected
to the Authorize.net site. For this purpose, merchants must
have an SSL certificate installed. By means of this certificate,
the payment will be received using a secure connection.
By implementing the AIM method, Comersus asks for all credit
card data including the CVV code, which is used to verify who
is the owner of the credit card and allows authorizing and capturing
payments in one step or authorizing the payments to be processed
later on. Regarding this issue, it should be mentioned that
certain companies require that payments may be captured only
when products are sent to the end customer.
Comersus combined with Authorize.net AIM can also be used to
receive payments using checks through the eCheck option.
Regarding security, Comersus stores the merchant details using
encryption, according to Authorize.net regulations.
After authorizing the payment, Comersus obtains the transaction
id, provided by Authorize.net and loads it in the Order as a
payment confirmation number.
* How to obtain Authorize.net scripts
In order to obtain Authorize.net scripts, Comersus users need
to purchase the Power Pack. With
this package, now at a promotional price of $299, users obtain
Authorize.net scripts and a great number of additional features
such as the BackOffice Plus control panel, antifraud filters,
real time shipping quoting, YouTube embedded videos, generation
of news through RSS and more.
